August came and picked me up at work this evening which is great as i am lugging my lap top home (on leave tomorrow YIPPIE). Sometimes I am so used to looking my office rich and vibrant 15″ sony vaio screen for a straight 8 hrs a day, that my eyes couldn’t get used to my pathetic 13″Mac at home.We adjourned to Mac at Lido to help A do some powerpt presentation slides for his sch work. Was so irritated at times that I wonder how people actually work with/under him. So told him right in the face “Though you have the creativity and style, i just can’t stand that attitude!” Fortunately, the dinner with Joseph, Florence and Bernard saved my sanity. We had a rather late dinner at La Strada. Joseph insisted on treating Bernard as he still owns him a dinner there. We ordered:- Prosciutto Cotto e Funghi PizzaFresh juicy mushrooms with mozzarella and gammon ham- Salame  PiccanteItalian Salami with a salty taste to it, with olives- Linguini Marinara- A’s favourite Pollo Novello ArostitoBut we all felt that the last time that we had was better than this new variation. They also wanted to take photos of the chicken as we were joking about it’s very common for pple to  go Geylang to pay for the “chickens” to take photos of them in action.- Stinco di Vitello a Bassa Cottura- TiramisuIt is different from the usual Tiramisu which is held in shape by the cups/plastic wraps. A edible brown cripsy crust envelopes it instead. Thanks to Joseph that we had this compliementary dessert as he is the designer behind all the smart and sharp uniforms that all the waiters there are donning on.Overall Rating (Over 5 carrots):Food: 3.5 CarrotsExperience: 4 Carrots  tiramisu.jpg

Realised that i have been wronged all these while. It is Oyster that made people horny and NOT mussels. Still wonder why a place famous for its mussels is called Ooyster instead of Musssels?

Look at August’s face, cos Stefanie got into an accident and was rushed to A&E.Went to Dr Ong’s house for grassroots night, hence was sooo soo late, made the girls wait for me.  oops…. After the steamboat, ended up at MAC having choco sundae as The Loof was too packed. Ended with L the movie.

Airport resembled an octopus with tenacles extending itselves to feed on the plane. It is messier than Bangkok airport, better than India Kerala Airport. Atmosphere is prettty joyial with a live band wearing colourful hawaiian shirts, playing Filipino music, here and there, with a few homecoming locals swaying to the tunes. Koreans practically flood the customs and cut my queue.Mabuhay, i am in Philippines.Jetlagged.. or rather finding excuses to sleep… i m so tired, slept in the afternoon. Went over to Robinsons Mall to shop shop and was appalled by the local’s fanatism about PIZZAS and PASTAS, almost every fast food sells them.

History is a lie commonly agreen upon.

When i was there,

It’s a bad and good season to visit Manila. The typhoons are here. When my taxi drove through a flooded street, the water just kept oozing in through the gaps in the doors and i was prepared to swim to my destination. Pros: less touristy. Cons: I bought a total of 3 umbrellas in my few days there and i missed the climb up to the crater of volcano. When I travelled alone, there’s not alot of pple to take photos with, so i ended up taking photos of food, staircase, bedsheets, billboards…

 When August arrived,

Someone from Singapore!! Great! My life was complete.

When i left,

I knew that i have to get back to Philippines again! I haven’t gotten enough of Philippines yet. Next time i gonna find Yvonne Biyo at her home town somewhere in the south and near the beach.

I had a late lunch today around 3pm.

Went down to Henderson Market despite the rainto try to look for the Chee Cheong Fun that my colleague Joey introduced me to.As i was walking along the HDB blocks of Bukit Merah, something caught my eyes.A rehab centre for the elderly occupied the first floor of a block. The elderlies were sitted in a circle, a few plastic balls were thrown to and fro reluctantly. They looked expressionless and accustomed to the movement of the ball across the air. They caught the ball with accuracy and robotically(not sure if there’s such a word), as if it helps to pass time.I was nevertheless captivated by their lack of emotion and forlornless. It seems that they were tossing the ball ard for the sake of it. … they seemed to be waiting… waiting for the clock to tick by, for the time to go home after the day of activities, or simply waiting for the inevitable…So it just strucked my mind: “Is that it?”Many of them could have lead a colourful and memorable lifetime many of days ago. However, when the golden years passed by, the bits and pieces of memories lingers behind… last time, i would replay beautiful memories of the past, daydreaming that i have been transported back in time…. however, as i grow older, i did not indulge in such activities and those memories became more and more blurred, finally fading away from my memory bank. What will happen to me when one day i can’t recall those memories that shaped me into who i am today? when those memories are only possessions that i have left.Tears welled up as i ordered my chicken chop for takeaway that day

Closing a chapter of my life.
